Our trip to New Orleans changed our perspectives on a lot of things. Most of our changed perspectives were very enlightened, while a few were serious reality checks. We were entranced by the French Quarter. What a beautifully mysterious and charming place! The history of New Orleans fascinated all of us, leaving us to ponder the richness of it forever.
Being a family-owned and run business, I had the honor and privilage of making the Mardi Gras adventure with my brother and sister. It was my first time in New Orleans, while my younger siblings had visited before. It was the first Mardi Gras for all of us, and my what a year to attend! New Orleans never sleeps, and neither did we while we were there! It is in constant movement and array, except when the establishments close for an hour or so to clean up.
We met so many fine and colorful people while we were there. Esoterica hosted us. We found life-long friends there. They are not only the coolest shop in the Quarter, but they are the most gentle souls we've ever had the pleasure of working with. Club 735 of Bourbon Street also hosted us the week of Mardi Gras. Thanks, boys and girls! We wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else Mardi Gras night! Haunted History Tours of New Orleans were a group of people we were ecstatic to work with, also. They are truly a diversely talented group. If you're ever in the neighborhood, look these folks up. They give the most wonderful tours in the civilized world.
We had quite a few adventures and made so many great friends while we were there that we've considered writing memiors! Here are some pics of the people we hung with. What a group!
We miss you all and can't wait to get back down there!
This page is dedicated to you, our friends in the French Quarter.
with love,
Colleen, Amy and Jason
